MIXED : How Keep Your Dogs Active and Healthy
on 2009/1/9 10:06:19 (103 reads)

Many animal lovers regard dogs as a man's best friend. Unfortunately, many of these dogs like to play with the things that are valuable to you because they're active by nature. If you are a TV addicted couch potato, then having a dog may not be a suitable pet. Dogs are more likely to feel depressed if they live with owners who have various lifestyles. Sometimes these conditions can create a tense in a human relationship.

If you have decided to bring home a dog, you must plan activity levels. Dogs need activity to keep them fit not just physically but also emotionally. Some idle adults think that if they only had a dog that needed walking twice daily, then they would get the exercise they've so carefully avoided for so many years. Active dogs need active owners. If the owners are lazy, then they need to change their habits. But that can't be easily done. Eventually the dogd will suffer as the idle keepers slacks off on walking and the dogs fail to get frequent outdoor time.

You should know the quantity and physical exercise that you give to your dogs is not the same as giving them the quantity of physical activity that they needs everyday. Dogs need time each day to walk, run, jump and relax. That may come with a walk on the lead to the park or around the neighborhood. You don't have to put your dog on a leash to let him relish the freedom of running and playing if you have a home with a fenced yard. If you are one of those older adults who are concerned about having limited mobility, then you might as well go for a dog that won't demand you of too much physical activity everyday. Active dogs may find people who are fond of going outdoors to have fun or relax after a day's work to be ideal owners that are suitable for them. Both owner and dog look forward to the end of the day, because it would be the time for them to enjoy playing chase or running together in the park.
